
Getting Your KOSME KSB 6000 Back Up to Speed
If you’ve worked with a KOSME KSB 6000, you know the struggle. You need that exact heat profile to soften PET preforms just right. Too cold, and you’re stuck. Too hot, and you’re dealing with crystallization or, even worse, burn-through. We spent a lot of time building replacement infrared lamps that hit those OEM specs on the nose. The goal was simple: make something that works perfectly, whether you’re running a KOSME or another brand of blow molder. Let’s talk power. These lamps are built for the heavy lifting of industrial high-voltage loads. We tweaked the tungsten filament—the diameter and the length—to make sure you get the exact wattage needed for those fast heating cycles. It’s powerful. Really powerful. But a quick heads-up: when you push these to max wattage, your oven’s cooling fans have to work harder. If your vents are clogged with dust, the lamps will burn out faster. Keep them clean. The build quality We use high-purity quartz glass because standard glass just bows under that kind of heat. Inside the tube, we’ve got a halogen cycle that keeps the filament centered and helps the lamp last longer. As for the fit? We use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. It depends on which version of the machine you have, but the point is that they just fit. No hacking, no weird adapters, and no electrical resistance to worry about. You just plug them in and get back to work. Making it work on the floor These lamps hit the shortwave IR spectrum, which is a fancy way of saying the heat sinks into the PET wall fast. We also kept the footprint tight. You won’t have to force the lamp into the oven or stress the glass just to get it to sit right. One last tip from the field:check your reflector plates. If your reflectors are dirty, they bounce the heat right back into the lamp. That’s a recipe for overheating and a dead tube. Keep those plates polished. Because we focused on the actual dimensions and the electrical load rather than just slapping a brand name on the box, these lamps work with about 95% of the blowing equipment out there. It just works.
