
Stop Fighting Your SACMI Oven: Getting Your Heating Lamps Right
When you’re running high-speed PET blowing, everything happens in a blink. The time it takes for a preform to hit the oven and move to the stretch blow is practically nothing. If your lamps are sluggish—especially when you’re just starting up—you’re going to see it in your product. Uneven walls, wasted preforms, and a whole lot of frustration. That’s why we built our replacement lamps for SACMI and Sidel SBO machines to hit the right temperature now, not in a few minutes. The secret is in the heat To keep up with the rhythm of a rotary machine, you have to deal with “thermal inertia.” Basically, we tweaked the tungsten coil density and thinned out the quartz envelope. Why? Because it means the lamp hits peak infrared emission faster. You spend way less time fiddling with oven settings during changeovers. It just works. We’ve packed a lot of wattage into a small space to keep that heat profile steady, but we made sure the tubes can handle rapid cycling. No one wants a filament snapping in the middle of a shift. No more fighting with the hardware We use high-purity quartz glass so the IR light actually gets through to the plastic. And here is the best part: these are true drop-in replacements. We kept the dimensions exact. You won’t have to wrestle with the reflectors or force things into place during installation. Even the connectors are beefed up to handle the heat and the constant vibration of the machine. Depending on your resin, we can also do different coatings. Some PET needs a specific wavelength to get deep into the wall without scorching the surface. One quick heads-up These high-response lamps put out a lot of intense heat. Because of that, your oven’s cooling blowers have to work harder. If your cooling system is clogged or just can’t keep up, the ambient heat builds up and can burn out your lamps early. Before you swap in these high-output tubes, take a second to check your airflow. It’ll save you from having to replace them twice as often.
