The heat struggle To get PET blowing right, you need a massive hit of heat, and you need it instantly. That’s the only way the plastic stretches the way it should. But here’s the catch: pushing that much wattage through a tiny quartz tube creates a ton of internal pressure. If the seal is off by even a fraction, the tube snaps. Simple as that. To stop the bleeding, we used a thicker quartz wall. It handles the pressure without changing the size of the lamp, so it still drops right into your existing setup. It’s all in the fit A lot of lamps fail at the pinch seal or where they plug in. Think about the vibration on a machine running 24/7. If the lamp is even slightly loose in the socket, you get electrical arcing. That creates a “hot spot” at the base that burns the lamp out way before its time. We tightened the tolerances on our connectors and beefed up the end-caps. No shifting, no arcing, no premature burn-outs. A quick reality check Look, these lamps are built to take a beating, but they aren’t magic. They put out an incredible amount of ambient heat. If your cooling fans are choked with dust or your airflow is blocked, the lamps will overheat regardless of how thick the quartz is. Keep your cooling systems clean. Do that, and you’ll actually get the full lifespan out of the quartz.
