This is direct radiant heat—it warms people, tools, and vehicles the moment it touches them. Technical Deep-Dive
At the heart is a halogen infrared lamp, packed into a small footprint but delivering serious power. It turns on fast—instant, focused heat. No waiting around like you do with those big convection heaters. And because it’s wall-mounted, it stays out of your way while shining the heat exactly where you work. Here’s the thing, though: this kind of high-intensity heat is awesome, but it runs hot. That means you need to plan for it. Make sure the mounting area and nearby surfaces can handle the temperature. Give it proper clearance and heat shielding from the start, and you won’t be chasing problems later.
Material & Design
The lamp itself uses a quartz envelope, not regular glass. That’s because quartz can handle sudden temperature swings and the high pressure inside. The tube is filled with halogen gas, which keeps the filament stable and gives you a longer life than a standard incandescent bulb. We chose an R7s two-pin base for a reason. It’s tough, made for high wattage, locks in securely, and handles the current without fuss. When the lamp needs replacing, it’s a simple drop-in job. And the housing and reflector are shaped to push the infrared heat forward, not spill it sideways.
Application & Benefits
In a garage, that means you can warm up an engine bay, dry a wet spot on the floor, or keep your workbench comfortable—without firing up a giant gas heater. In a bathroom, the infrared warmth feels gentle, with none of the harsh glare of bright visible light.
