
Stop fighting with your Sidel lamps
Let’s be honest: swapping out infrared lamps in a PET blowing machine is usually a total pain. You deal with different footprints, weird electrical specs, and the constant worry that the new part won’t actually fit. It’s a headache nobody needs. That’s why we built our current range. We wanted to bridge that annoying gap between the old-school SBO lines and the newer Matrix series. The goal was simple: a lamp you can just slide in and forget about. No messing with the oven chassis. No rewiring the control cabinet. Just a part that works. Getting the specs right Here is the thing about heat profiles. If your wattage and voltage aren’t a perfect match for your power supply, you’re asking for trouble. Ever put a lower-wattage lamp in a high-output zone? You end up with cold spots and bottles with uneven walls. Not great. We make sure our lamps mirror the original Sidel dimensions and connectors. They seat firmly in the reflectors, which is key. If the fit is loose, you’re just leaking heat and throwing money away. Tough glass, smarter heat We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating. Between the pressure and the rapid heating and cooling cycles, the glass has to be tough. We also tweaked the coating. It shifts the infrared spectrum so the PET resin actually absorbs the heat instead of letting it drift off into the oven air. More heat goes into the plastic. Less waste. One quick heads-up, though. If you decide to push the wattage higher than the factory specs to speed up your cycles, keep an eye on your cooling fans. You don’t want to overheat your other components just to shave a few seconds off a cycle. No tools, no drama We got rid of the adapters. Whether you’re running an old SBO or a Matrix, the wiring and mounting points just line up. You pull out the burnt-out tube, slide ours in, and lock the connectors. No drilling. No welding. And definitely no waiting around for a custom fabrication job while your machine sits idle. It’s just fast.
